Kuwait Airways, established in 1954, is the national airline of Kuwait. Kuwait Airways was the first airline created by an Arab state in the gulf but was seriously effected by the Gulf War of 1990 - 91. The airline now has competition from more recent neighbouring airlines such as Qatar and Emirates.

The airline has a fleet of approximately 18 aircraft, mostly Airbus (300, 310, 320, 330, 340, plus 2 Boeing 777's and a 747.
