Argentina, the second largest South American country, occupies most of the southern tip of the continent, stretching from the South Atlantic coast to it's border with Chile, in the Andes mountains.

The country is approaching 3,700 Km in length, that's 4 times the length of the UK mainland (John' Groats to Landsend) and at 1400 Km across, is considerably wider than the UK is long.

While Argentina has considerable area of fertile agricultural plains, it is also home to the highest point in the Americas, Cerro Aconcagua, at 6,962 metres or 22,834 feet, approximately half way along the countries border with Chile.

The vibrant city of Buenos Aires is a tourist attraction in this southern hemisphere country where summer runs from November to March.
The language is Spanish though there will be a number of English speakers in the tourist areas.
